Mom just left. It was so wonderful having her here. It really makes me sit and wonder if I will have that strong of a bond with my child. It's pretty emotional to think about actually, maybe it's just the pregnancy hormones or maybe it's just that, really my mom is one of the most special people in the world to me. Sometimes I catch myself asking Nick "why can't you do things the way my mom does?" As unfair to him as it is, it's kinda funny. His response is always... "she taught you everything you know... thats why you like the way she does things." He is right...
I can only sit here and hope and pray that one day when my child is 23, going on 24, they will beg me to stay longer in my visit. I hope my blueberry wants to hug me and never let me go, even when they are married and starting a family of their own. I can only hope my child, the one I love more than anything already, will love me even when I make mistakes, and will love the wisdom that I spend years teaching them. I really pray, that this child growing strong inside of me loves me, as much as I love my parents.
In other news, I am feeling much better. Not 1/2 as sick as I was. My next apointment is April 23rd. I cannot wait to see that little heartbeat, beating away. I pray it is still going fast and strong and blue is holding on tight to mommy growing away! The 23rd will mark the end of my 1st trimester, so hopefully I will feel ready to start sharing the news with more friends and family. For now, keep those prayers acoming :) And visits area always a wonderful thing from anybody ;)

Look out World… We have a troublemaker brewing!
Baby Taube decided to make trouble on Friday. Nick and I have recently joined a gym, mainly so I know I could stay active during pregnancy despite the Houston summer weather. Well, thinking that Aquacise would be a great way to keep active, I went to my first workout class on Thursday night. I started experiencing some pain afterward, but didn’t think anything of it. I was up most of the night last night, with a strange feeling something wasn’t right. Went to work that next morning, thankfully got off early and when I got home start to have more unusual symptoms. Since it was Good Friday, my Dr. who was on call (I actually think he was in a movie) told me to go to the Hospital and get checked out. After 5 ½ hours, a few tests, and one beautiful baby with a heart rate of 175 on the ultrasound screen the Doctor had told us I have a small hemorrhage between my uterine wall and the baby’s placenta. Basically, it’s not good news, and it’s not bad news. It’s just News and something to keep a lookout for. This baby I tell ya… TROUBLE!!!
It still doesn’t feel real yet. I’m wondering when it will sink it. I just feel like I’m living someone else’s life.
In other news, I am having my book club over for dinner on Thursday and MOM COMES ON THURSDAY!!! I’m extremely excited for both of these things to happen. Nick and I are working on getting the Office together and once that happens the house will be officially put together. Not finished, just put together.

Pregnancy Eyes
Food has been my enemy for going on a month now. I've gotten extremely good at holding my breath when opening the refrigerator door, as well as the pantry. And you better believe I know EXACTLY what I'm reaching for before the door opens! But I've had an excellent day today. When i'm eating carbs every 2 hours, I feel fantastic. Ok, thats a lie, not FANTASTIC but a whole heck of a lot better than when I forget to eat.
My point of the story is, tonight I was feeling so good on my way home from work that I decided I wanted Quiznos for dinner! So DARN IT, I was going to have Quiznos! After, driving around a parking lot for about 10 mins while talking to Jill and trying to have her explain to me where it was, I found it! IT WAS CLOSED!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Well because by this point it's in my mind I want Quiznos, I decide to drive 1/2 an hour to the nearest one. haha I arrive at last. I walk in, I decide to order a regular sub, a sammy, AND chips. After ordering I wanted to shout I"M PREGNANT, OK! Like being pregnant gives me such a right to order a large amount of food. hahaha
So after everything is said and done... there is an entire sub and 1/2 bag of chips sitting on my kitchen counter. Did I REALLY believe I was going to eat all that?
Ok, so i lied. There was no point to this story, but because I can't shout random things on facebook, I decided I would write my little story on here. :P

Houston... We have a Heartbeat!!!!!!
I was so so so excited to write this post before going into my appointment on Friday. I wanted everything to be good news just so I could come home and write a post "Houston, we have a heartbeat!" I knew there could be a chance of not seeing one, but I kept my hopes high, and sure enough little "Blueberry" (Nick's nickname for baby) showed it's little beating heart on the ultra sound! I couldn't have been happier but at the same time, it hit me I have another long 4 weeks to wait again! I can't quite explain the feeling, but as relief hit so did the realization that I have to be a worried mom for the next 4 weeks...ok 18 year... ok rest of my life!!! The doctor said everything is looking very normal, good position, good size... GOOD BLUEBERRY!
Doctor confirmed that feeling nauseous is actually a really great sign that everything is doing what it is suppose to do. It definitely makes the days I drive home from work with my trashcan in the passenger seat a little easier, and makes the worry less. BUT MAN THIS SUCKS!
April 23rd is our next appointment and I will officially be completed with my first trimester of pregnancy. "God, be with this baby. Let my body be a healthy home, a home where that little embryo can grow big and strong."
I just wanted to thank everyone for there thoughts and prayers during this time for us!! It makes things alittle easier when you know you have a whole lot of friends and family standing beside you to support you with whatever direction life may take you. It has been super encouraging to hear about all your thoughts and prayers. THANK YOU!
Where Did "Blueberry" Come From??
At week 7, I told Nick, baby was the size of a blueberry (according to online.) Apparently this is the first he has heard of embryos and fetus' size being compared to fruit or food. Well, even though baby is officially the size of a Raspberry this week, blueberry has stuck. My mom likes to call baby, "BB", and I slipped in a "Blue" the other day so... Blueberry it is, until week 20.

Punk Rock Pregnancy
So after over a week of feeling sick, I’ve decided to try anything and everything I could get my hands on. Yesterday I made my venture out to Babies R Us (with a McDonalds paper bag on my lap, that I have now replaced with a plastic trash can… its ok you can laugh!) and I picked up these suckers called “Preggie Pops.”
While the name is just plan ridiculous, I said, I was I ready to try ANYTHING! Sure enough these suckers (no pun intended bah haha!) take the edge off, when in real trouble. My next stop was to Walmart to pick up some “Ginger Snap Cookies.” They say ginger can cure nausea. Let me just tell you, I am not a fan of gingerbread so why I thought I could do ginger snap cookies??? They are almost spicy!!! YUCK! But whatever, when I’m out of options they are my back up of my back up. My last trip of the night was to Walgreens where I purchased what may be my lifesaver to this whole pregnancy deal. They are called “Sea Bands.”
They look just like sweat bands you wear on your wrist yanno, like when you play tennis, or you are a punk rock teenager… BUT there is a MAGIC (it’s not magic it’s just a plastic piece) that puts pressure on a pressure point in your wrist. BASICALLY, I’m in love!
I went on a walk with Bella today (the girl I nanny) and felt so ridiculous walking around with these sweat bands on. Haha! I decided to just embrace my Punk Rock side… maybe I’ll wear all black tomorrow!? I should probably paint my finger nails black too, just for fun! Haha But for real, I have no care in the world how I look, because I do feel better!!
As far as any news updates, I have none. The doctor hasn’t called with my blood results from Friday, but I told a friend today, I’m just going to let it be. I’m going to take no news as good news, and hopefully find out everything I need to know on Friday, when I have Nick with me for support if things turn out less than ideal. At this point baby… YOU BETTER BE GROWING HEALTHY, because momma isn’t going to be a happy camper she went through all of this if you are not! So GROW BABY, GROW!
I think I need to take a second and make sure Nick is recognized. He just is… amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in life. He takes such good care of me, and I think it’s important for everyone to know that. Friends and Family that are miles and miles away do not have to worry about me being taken care of, because I have the best nurse anyone could ask for. Poor guy though, every night it’s “what can we have for dinner tonight.” And once we eat, he has to clean up the kitchen because I just really can’t handle the smell once I have consumed it. I love him so much!!!
Friday is the magic day… Updates to come!

Emotions Uncensored
Some of you have heard it all, some only parts, and for others this is the 1st time your hearing of it at all.
Where do I begin?
I’m Pregnant!!! I suppose that would be a good opener! God has blessed Nick and I beyond belief in the order of events leading up to a positive pregnancy test we witnessed on March 1st. While I will tell you it was quite a SURPRISE! How much sweeter of a surprise can you get? Please read on.
A little back story:
Nick and I have been talking about kids since day 1 that we met. I truly believe that is one of the major reasons for the strong attraction we had towards each other in the way beginning. We share very similar huge lifetime goals, which I believe is the glue to our amazing marriage. That being said, we had never been on the “same page” as to the timing of these little loved ones that we knew we wanted. A few weeks ago, on February 25th to be exact, Nick and I were enjoying desert with our friends in Houston. This specific couple, Nick and I feel exceptionally close to and have shared much of our life thus far in Houston with them. In a completely random moment during our chat, Nick states “I think I’m ready to have kids.” I look at him across the table in disbelief that those words A) actually came out of his mouth, when I feel the same way and B) that we have not discussed this private issue in private yet! I laugh it off, and we go on with the night. 3 days late Nick and I attended Church where the whole sermon that day was on “Raising Children.” I found this coincidence rather cute, and continued to ask Nick about his feeling on the car ride home. We had decided that God has lined up for us all of the “tools” we feel essential to raise children such as, our new home, an unexpected high raise at Nick’s job, my job ending in September, and of course prepared hearts in both of us. We had agreed we would start actively trying at the end of the summer.
Needless to say, we were shocked at the result of a positive pregnancy test, after some flu like symptoms, THE VERY NEXT DAY! (O God, you’re funny!)
Where does that take us now?
As with any new mom, I of course start worrying. I made an appointment, got to see our “little black dot” and even got to take home a picture. I have been feeling the effects of the “little black dot,” but as hard as it is to look at food that makes you green, it’s been a wonderful feeling knowing it’s for a purpose. Yesterday I got a call from my doctor. My blood results have come back with less than thrilling news. My progesterone levels are low, which doesn’t indicate anything significant yet, but could be devastating. While I’m on medication now trying to get those levels up, of the “most important” hormone during pregnancy, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed and helpless at this point.
Why am I telling you now, and like this?
Today I had the day off, due to more blood work needing to be done today. I had the chance to sit in silence for the first time in a very long time. From the beginning of finding out about this pregnancy, I knew I only wanted a few people to know, JUST IN CASE. I wanted to celebrate the end of a healthy 12 weeks with phone calls and emails. Instead I have decided today in my chat with God that WE NEED YOU, my closest friends and family. We need your prayers that this little blessing will continue to grow properly, that I can be a good home for it, and of course that Nick and I’s minds be at peace with whatever may come. I found this verse today "Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes." Matthew 6:34 (The Message Version) As encouraging as this verse is, I feel like as a “mom” I need to do everything in my power to protect my unborn child. What I feel is the only thing left I can do is ask you to pray for this situation is it is not at all in my control.
Finally:
Thank you for your encouragement and support though this crazy time. Thank you for receiving this news in a “21st Century” type of way, and I’m very sorry it is not more personable. I felt I had a lot to say, and wanted to get it out fast! I am not yet ready to make this “Facebook” public news, but if/when I’m ready you will certainly know.
We are always up for calls or emails if you so desire!

Celebrating Year One! : )
Nick and I traveled about 3.5 hours north on Friday to Arlington TX. If you are unfamiliar with Arlington it is home to the Dallas Cowboys, along with the Texas Rangers... and our favorite 6 flags theme park! Arlington is right in the middle of Dallas and Fort worth, and is about a 20 min drive to either one so we figured we would not run out of things to do. Earlier this year we purchased season tickets to Six Flags in San Antonio, but with the season pass it allows us entrance into any park across the country. WAHOOOOOOOO!
In order to save a bit of cash, we used priceline.com and got our hotel for.... $44 dollars a night!!!!

So a little back story. Thursday night before we left I was having a very bad homesick breakdown. Many things played into this breakdown, but one big thing was we had just played a game of flag football that night and it was 90+ degrees out at 9pm. Needless to say I was less than thrilled because after all it was October out... and fall is my favorite time of the year. I love nothing more than wearing hooded sweatshirts and the smell of cold air, and leaves :) So the story continues...
Friday morning, we got up and ready and left the house IN THE POURING RAIN! Although this was definitely a set back to our "timed" trip nothing seemed to bring us down. Along the way, we stopped at our 1st Buc-ees! I'm not sure how many of you have been there or not, but it's definitely an experience AND they have the best bathrooms hands down! Its probably my new favorite place on road trips! :) Despite the rain, we made it to Arlington in good time and was excited as we got closer to our hotel we found
out that not only were we right across from 6 Flags, but could see the BRAND NEW cowboys stadium along with the Rangers Field from our hotel as well. Awesome! So as we parked out car at the hotel and opened the doors we were SHOCKED to say the least that the temperature had dropped from 90+ degrees the night before to 46 degrees in Dallas!!!! The first words out of my mouth were "God is playing with me!" I definitely got my Indiana Fall Weather... but had not prepared or packed for it! So off to Walmart we went! : ) (the picture here is a view of the park from our floor of the hotel :)
Friday was awesome! We spent the remainder of the day at the park riding every big coaster ride they had... NO LINES, "SCORE!" Woke up Saturday got to the Park for the 2nd day, and finished up the little rides we had missed the night before, but left early because it got crowed. Lucky for us, Arlington just built.. A MELTING POT! Nick and I got dressed up and headed out for an Anniversary Dinner. It was amazing... As always!! (and it was my turn to pick the chocolate : )

Excuse the poor quality picture! Our waitress= Not a good photographer. This was her 4th try, and the only one that came in focus!
Even though we had a blast at 6 flags, today was probably the most exciting days. It just so happened that the Texas State Fair was going on in Dallas! Of course we had to go!
After watching a dog show:

(This one is doing a hand stand!)
and seeing "Big TEX":

We saw crowds and crowds of people over by the "Fried Butter" tent
(I'm not kidding here is the picture to prove it!)

Nick and I were so confused and as we got closer we kept hearing people say "Oprah is coming!" I LOVE OPRAH! So of course I made Nick come with me to check it out. As we got closer we stood in the back for this massive crowd, and all of a sudden the policemen were putting gates up right by us and making the people in front of us move out of the way... it all happened so fast but I soon realized I was standing with my knees hitting a crossing barricade. After about 10 mins. of confusion and crowds and police men.. we see low and behold a black SUV pull up.... AND OUT COME OPRAH!!!!!!! walking right down the path that I have FRONT ROW for.
It all was so crazy... She went to the fried butter tent and taped some stuff and then walked right back down the same path, and was talking to the guy RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!!!! I can't believe I didn't shake her hand, or tell her it was our anniversary or SOMETHING! All I did was stand there and try to take a picture.... (In all honesty I feel really bad because I should have just smiled instead of shoving a camera in her face...
Oprah and Gayle

I"M SORRY OPRAH!! I didn't mean to be rude... I was just SHOCKED
So, Oprah left, I was all giddy! We walked around the rest of the fair, had a wonderful time holding hands in still high 40's weather... it was just perfect!

The drive home was... long! but so is every drive over an hour for me! Nick swears he'll never forget the DVD player again. I am thankful for cameras and cellphones that can keep me entertained for at least a few minutes at a time.
As we got closer to Houston the rain came again, and Nick and I just smiled. Rained leaving and rained coming home... but never in between.
After we got home and settled back in, it was time for the "tradition." (And yes, Nick packed up our 2 wedding cupcakes from our Freezer in Lafayette, kept them in a cooler on ice for the 4 days it took to drive down to Houston in May, and while only 1 survived the drive, it sure was a whole lot better than I expected it to taste!)
Whoops: Defrosting=Melted Icing

And to end... My Favorite Picture of the weekend!

As we got closer to Houston the rain came again, and Nick and I just smiled. Rained leaving and rained coming home... but never in between.
Overall, God blessed us with a amazing, perfect, Fall Anniversary.
It was wonderful!
It was wonderful!

And to end... My Favorite Picture of the weekend!
